For Britons, the benefit of being on an island is the number of stunning coastline walks which are found in all areas of the UK.
Heading to these places and taking in some sea air is said to make you sleep longer but it also provides some incredible views.
Craster in Northumberland has been deemed the coastal walk with the best view for people to enjoy, according to a new study. The walk is just over nine miles in distance and takes in the sights of Dunstanburgh Castle ruins and the Embleton Bay beach.
On average it takes nearly four and a half hours before walkers reach High Newton-by-the-Sea.
The study, which was conducted by GO Outdoors, ranked the best Scottish walk to be Sandwood Bay in Sutherland and the best Welsh walk to be Three Cliffs Bay in Gower.
Causeway Coast Way in Northern Ireland ranked fifth on the list but all of these coastline attractions were beaten into second place by the Old Harry Rocks in Dorset.
Go Outdoors said: "One of the best ways to take in the simply stunning Jurassic Coast [is Old Harry Rocks]. Old Harry refers to the chalk formation furthest out to sea in this area and is said to be named after famed local pirate Harry Paye. The South West Coastal path offers sea views and interesting rock formations."
The coastline walk across Old Harry Rocks takes just under two hours and is three and a half miles long.

The shortest walk on the list at just over two miles was Three Cliffs Bay in Gower, which came in eleventh on the list, with the longest walk being Craster, ranking first.
Dorset is the best area for coastline walks with two areas in the top 15, just a half an hour's drive away from each other.
Coastline walks are perfect opportunities for Britons to enjoy a weekend away or a staycation. Recently, a new study used data from the Office for National Statistics and other official sources, which ranked Rutland in the East Midlands as the best place for a staycation.
Eden and Whitehaven in Cumbria would be the best duo for a staycation and coastline walk in the UK, with both areas ranking in the top ten in their respective studies and are only an hour's drive away from each other.
