GB News presenter Bev Turner, broadcaster Mike Parry and former Labour MP Stephen Pound reacted to Robert Jenrick making his pitch to become the new Conservative leader.

In an exclusive video for GB News members, the hilarious trio put forward their thoughts on Jenrick's speech as it played live on air.

On Wednesday, the four leadership hopefuls Robert Jenrick, Kemi Badenoch, James Cleverly and Tom Tugendhat delivered their final speeches on stage in Birmingham.

At the beginning of the video, Bev explained: "This is GB News Gogglebox. The material from these two whilst watching these speeches has been too good, so we thought the members should have a listen. We're listening to Robert Jenrick now."

During his speech, Jenrick said the Tories reversed Britain's decline under Thatcher, who he said is one of his heroines.

Bev chimed in: "Is he the one whose middle name is Thatcher?" To which both Stephen and Mike said: "yep, yep."

"But he's a Johnny-come-lately Thatcherite," Mike said, adding: "In my view, I've never heard him expound those sort of Thatcherite views before this race for the leadership."

Stephen agreed quipping: "That was in his pre-Ozempic days."

Mike continued: "Mrs. Thatcher is now being used as a, you know, a bastion of what conservatism is all about. But in my view, it's what they should have been doing for the last 20 years."

At another point, the trio spoke on Jenrick's body language saying it was the best out of those who had spoken so far.

Mike commented that "whoever chose the running order got it right" as he was doing "better than the previous two" who spoke and that "Kemi Badenoch has a chance to come out on top."

The four hopeful Tories will face a vote from their 121 MPs on October 9 and 10 to choose the final two contenders.

A leader will finally be picked by party members on November 2.
