Three police officers have been injured following an altercation at Manchester Airport on Wednesday.

Officers said they were "confronted" and attacked as they investigated an abandoned, uninsured car at the airport's Terminal Two yesterday morning.

Three suspects - one man and two women - have been arrested on suspicion of police assault.

A Greater Manchester Police statement called the alleged assaults "unacceptable" in the wake of the incident - which comes just weeks after another altercation at the same airport.
