Mike Tyson has confessed he wishes his boxing alter-ego had 'died' as he prepares to fight Jake Paul in November.

The boxing legend will be participating in his first bout since his draw with Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Tyson, during his prime years, was a force of nature as he established himself as one of the best boxers of all time.

His aggression brought a fear factor unlike any other, with Tyson winning 50 of his 44 fights via knockout.

Speaking to Logan Paul on the YouTuber's podcast, Tyson said he's 'haunted' by how he used to be.

He says he wishes his alter-ego had 'died' but has told fans he's 'here to stay' as he looks to beat his nemesis later in the year.

“Unfortunately I have to fight and be that guy," said the 58-year-old.

"I wish I could stop that guy, that guy haunts me.

“I wish I could stop that guy, I wish that guy died, but he’s here to stay.”

Tyson will be taking part in his first professional boxing fight since 2005.

He lost to Kevin McBride on that occasion and quit to hang up his gloves following his defeat in Washington D.C.

Fast-forward to now and it'll be fascinating to see how he performs when he returns to action.

Tyson has pledged to make Paul 'run like a thief', while also revealing he feels better after suffering an ulcer flare up earlier in the year.

“I had a small adversity, I got sick, but I feel good. I’m just ready," he said.

“He may have been in the ring with people who have the same intentions, but the actuality, no.

“As soon as I catch this guy it’s going to be totally over, he is going to run. He is going to run like a thief.”

As for Paul, the 27-year-old has vowed to 'prove all the haters wrong' after being booed by fans at a press conference on Sunday.

"I'm a kid from Ohio, they'll never give me credit," he said. "That's the way it is.

"If I was walking on water, they would say it's because I couldn't swim. And this is to make history. The people think I'm going to get knocked out by this strong, powerful guy.

"All the people in my comments say, ‘look at his power. He's going to get KO’d.’ This has taken a chance to fight somebody as vicious as Mike can be. You got to risk it for the biscuit. That's the name of the game.

"I'm here to make history. I'm here for a challenge. I'm here to fight one of the most dangerous men in all of boxing.

"No one that ever did anything great got there with ease or by an easy, non bumpy road.

"I'm here to challenge myself. He's vicious. He's a killer. I know all of these things.

"He has one punch knockout power. He's the greatest heavyweight of all time. But I will prove [...] all the haters wrong."
