Donald Trump has said the US "won't survive" if Kamala Harris wins the presidential election during a two-hour interview with Elon Musk.
The pair giggled and complimented each other throughout the Q&A session which was streamed on social media site, X.
However, for many the stream failed to load at the anticipated start time of 8pm ET, as users reported blank screens and notifications which read: "Spaces is not available."
The Tesla CEO claimed that X had been the victim of a cyber-attack.
The audio-only chat eventually started around 8.40pm ET with Trump attacking Vice President Kamala Harris from the offset.
"If we have her as a president, if we have a Democrat as a president I don't think we would survive," the former president told Musk.
"She's a radical left lunatic. She is far worse than Bernie Sanders."
Trump added: "She's not a smart person by the way, she wouldn't have this kind of conversation."

While discussing immigration, Trump called Harris a "liar," before adding that she was meant to be the "border czar".
A spokesperson for the Harris-Walz campaign later called the interview "unhinged".
During the chat, the two were heard giggling and showering each other with compliments.
Trump told Musk: "You've definitely got a fertile mind. You can I can talk about tunnels, rockets and electric cars. So many things. And now you're into the AI. That's going to be a beauty. So it's an amazing thing you've done."
Musk laughed when Trump said that "illegal immigration saved my life".
It comes after the Republican nominee turned his head to look at an illegal immigration chart at a campaign rally, which resulted in gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks missing Trump and catching his ear.
The CEO of SpaceX told Trump: "I think we're at a fork in the road of destiny, of civilisation, and I think we need to take the right path and I think you're the right path."
Musk endorsed Trump in the 2024 election following the attempted assassination at his Pennsylvania rally on July 13.
