Former boxing star Butterbean has sensationally claimed that Mike Tyson's fight with Jake Paul is 'never' going to happen.

And he also says the whole thing is simply a 'scam' PR stunt as a press conference involving the pair creeps closer.

Tyson and Paul will speak about their upcoming showdown on August 18, with their fight currently scheduled to take place on November 15.

Both men are adamant their battle will go ahead, despite already being delayed once.

But Butterbean, real name Eric Esch, believes it won't ever happen.

"Him and Tyson are never gonna fight," he said during a Q&A.

"That has been a scam from the very beginning just to boost Jake's name - and it has!

"This guy, everybody's talking about him. But he's never gonna fight Tyson.

"They were never planning on fighting each other, because a promoter would never let him fight anyone else in between a fight.

"Never - not that big of a fight. So, it's been a scam from the beginning."

There is currently nothing to substantiate his claims.

Both Tyson and Paul are adamant they're in a position to finally do battle, five months after their fight was first announced.

This week's press conference should be telling, with Peyton Manning set to be a special guest in attendance.

Tyson last fought Roy Jones Jr back in 2020, with that clash ending in a draw.

As for Paul, the 27-year-old will go into his fight with the boxing icon on a high after recently beating Mike Perry.

The former YouTuber star defeated Perry via knockout, winning his 10th professional bout in the process.

And Paul called for Tyson to 'sign the contract' after his win, laying down the gauntlet to his upcoming opponent in the process.

"Mike Tyson, you're next big boy, sign the contract, November 15 on Netflix. I'm excited for that one," he said.

"It's happening, November 15, Mike Tyson is training, he's back, looking crazier than ever. I'm going to get another KO and prove everyone wrong once again."

Paul also admitted fighting Tyson was a 'risk', but one he's ready for.

"Everyone said I was an idiot for taking this fight, that I was risking it but this is why I'm here, I take big risks," he said.

"Mike, I love you but this is my sport, you're a legend, you're one of the two most famous boxers ever to live, you and Muhammad Ali.

"It's an honour to get in the ring with you. I'm so, so honoured; you're a legend, but I'm going to take your throne, brother."
