Commuters into the capital face morning chaos as a trespasser causes major delays to Transport for London and Chiltern Railways services.

All incoming and outgoing services to Marylebone Station have been cancelled indefinitely after a person was spotted on the tracks at Willesden Green in North West London.

The trespasser ensured there is no Metropolitan Line service between Wembley Park to Aldgate.

The Jubilee Line was also suspended between West Hampstead and Wembley Park.

National Rail expects "major disruption" for all services arriving at Marylebone Station until 9am.

In an update, National Rail said: "The police are dealing with an incident near the railway in the London Marylebone area.

"As a result of this, all lines are blocked. Trains running to / from these station may be cancelled or revised."

However, other lines have also been disrupted in the early hours of Friday morning.

Major disruption is also proving a problem for CrossCountry and Greater Anglia commuters between Bishops Stortford, Stansted Airport and Cambridge.

Lines also re-opened just less than half-an-hour ago on East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services after a signalling fault between Luton and London St Pancras.

"Lines have now reopened following a fault with the signalling system between Luton and St Albans," National Rail said.

"However, whilst service recovers, trains running between Luton and London St Pancras International may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes."

Thameslink's service from London Bridge and London Blackfriars is facing disruption following a points failure, with disruption expected until 10am.

Commuters were left fuming on social media.

One said: "Try to go into work. Met and Jubilee suspended due to a 'trespasser' on the track at Willesden Green. Very long.

Another added: "Good start. Been chucked off at West Ruislip. Line blocked at Willesden Green."
