Meghan Markle is predicted to miss out on the next Invictus Games after it was announced they would be held in the UK, it has been claimed.

Prince Harry's veterans project will make its return to the UK in 2027, with Birmingham being selected as the host city.

However, the Duchess of Sussex has previously suggested she will not return to the UK following her exit from the Royal Family with Harry.

Meghan Markle has not visited the UK since September 2022, when she attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Speaking to GBN America, US Commentator Lee Cohen predicted that Meghan will "make an excuse" not to attend, leaving Prince Harry to return to the UK solo once again.

Sharing his thoughts on the next Invictus Games, Cohen told host Nana Akua: "From all of the accounts that I've read, Harry will be coming solo without Meghan."

Highlighting reports in the Telegraph, which suggested that the Duchess would not be attending the games due to "security concerns" in the UK, Cohen criticised Meghan for making "excuses" for not returning to Britain.

Cohen added: "Meghan made the excuse, as she often has, that she would be skipping due to security concerns.

"That sounds like a convenient excuse to dodge a potentially chilly reception, doesn't it?"

Weighing in on Meghan Markle's possible absence from the games, Nana shared her disbelief at the Duchess's "security concerns" about the UK, arguing that there are "far bigger concerns" in the US.

Nana told GBNA: "Security concerns? She's living in the United States, where people bear arms all the time.

"We saw what almost happened to Donald Trump, and thank goodness he's still with us."

Hitting out at the Sussexes, Nana added: "It just seems a bit absurd for them to say, 'oh, it's security'. They live in America.

"People can't wilfully carry guns in this country. It doesn't work like that."

Meghan is also expected to attend the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada.

In a statement reacting to the decision to name Birmingham as the host city, Prince Harry said: "Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027.

"Your city’s strong ties to the Armed Forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start. Over the years, we’ve seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families, and spectators.

"We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all—something your city knows well."

GB News has approached the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
