Baby Reindeer actress Nava Mau - who played Teri - has been nominated for an Emmy for her role in the Netflix limited series and admitted that she hasn't "stopped crying" after receiving the news.

The Netflix hit saw Richard Gadd star as Donny Dunn - a fictional character based on his own life - and told the story of how he was stalked by Martha Scott (played by Jessica Gunning).

It explored themes of substance abuse, sexual abuse, threatening behaviour and the challenges people face when reporting a stalking incident.

After the series dropped, Gadd explained that he changed the character of Martha massively in order to protect the identity of his real stalker.

Throughout the show, Gadd's character is seen trying to navigate his way through his sexuality and becomes involved with transgender woman Teri - played by Mau who is trans in real life.

She received a staggering amount of love after the show dropped and has since been nominated for an Emmy, sharing her excitement with her social media followers.
