Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has sparked a fresh row as party MP Lee Anderson defended his decision to fly out to the US.

Farage is set to visit friend and ally Donald Trump after he was injured in an assassination attempt on the former President on Saturday.

After Reform UK won over four million votes in this month's General Election, Farage has been an prominent voice in the House of Commons, attending his first King's Speech in Parliament today.

Discussing the Reform UK leader's actions since winning his seat in the Essex town of Clacton, Anderson claimed Farage is "exactly what the country needs".

When asked by host Patrick Christys what Farage's intentions are for the constituency of Clacton and if he will be spending enough time there in light of his trip to the US, Anderson shut down the question, branding it "nonsense".

Anderson fumed: "You're talking nonsense. He's going to be a great representative of Clacton, he's going to be a great leader in the House.

"Nigel Farage is exactly what this country needs at the moment, and he is a phenomenon."

Turning the discussion to Reform UK's five seats in Parliament, Anderson criticised the King's Speech and said the party has "more heart than the 200 opposition MPs on the benches".

Anderson told GB News: "Patrick, there's five of us, but we have more influence and more fight and more heart in our bodies than the rest of the 200 on the opposition benches. It's ridiculous.

"Seriously, for the past three or four years, I've been banging on about the illegal migrants and legal migration. Finally, the country is waking up."

When asked for his thoughts on Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister, Anderson claimed that he is the "least popular Labour leader of all time".

Anderson said: "Keir Starmer is the least popular Labour leader of all time, even Jeremy Corbyn. We've only been here a week, we've got 4.1 million voters behind us. There's probably another couple of million voters that wanted to vote for us.

"We are the people's army - we will march forward and represent the silent majority in this country. I tell you what, you lot on GB News better watch out."

Turning the discussion to the next leader of the Conservatives, Anderson claimed that they "won't choose the correct leader" for the job.

When asked by Patrick if he believes the likes of Priti Patel or Suella Braverman, Anderson responded: "If they choose Tom Tugendhat or somebody like that, one of the wets in the Tory party, I'm going to order that new extension on my house.

"I love Priti, she's a good friend of mine, but, you know, look at her track record while she's been in government.

"Suella Braverman is a good friend of mine, she ticks all my boxes and probably all the boxes of Reform UK. I suspect she is going to go at some stage for the leadership of the Conservative Party. But I would love to have her on board with the Reform UK party."
