Joe Biden walked straight out of the room without answering any questions about the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling during a press conference on Monday.
In a five-minute speech from the White House, Biden criticised the ruling which grants his predecessor, Donald Trump, broad immunity from criminal charges of trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
But upon the conclusion of his speech, the 81-year-old gave reporters no opportunity to question him about the aforementioned issues or his debate performance last week against Trump.
His clash with the former president drew much criticism with many suggesting he did not do enough to quell concerns about his cognitive ability.
Speaking on the 6-3 Supreme Court ruling, he said: “This nation was founded on the principle that there are no kings in America.
“Each, each of us is equal before the law. No one, no one is above the law, not even the president of the United States.

“With today’s supreme court decision on presidential immunity that fundamentally changed for all practical purposes.
“Today’s decision almost certainly means that there are virtually no limits to what the president can do.
“This is a fundamentally new principle. It’s a dangerous precedent, because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law, even including the supreme court in the United States, the only limits will be self-imposed by the president alone.”
As the President’s statement drew to a close, reporters hoping to ask about his debate showing were left disappointed as he made a swift departure.
Some users took to X to voice their dismay at Biden’s refusal to answer questions, with one commenting: “A missed opportunity to take questions and show us that the debate was one bad night.”
Another questioned: “How can he call a Presidential national address and then spout campaign propaganda?”
Biden struggled during the presidential debate last week and was brutally mocked by his Republican counterpart for doing so.
As they locked horns on the southern border migrant crisis, Trump accused Biden of “not knowing” what he said.
“I really don’t know what he said there at the end of that sentence”, said Trump.
“I don’t think he knows what he said either.”
Biden offered no response and instead glared back at his opponent appearing baffled by the remark.
