GB News viewers were asked if they think Britain is the greatest country in the world in new polling for the channel.

Pollsters J.L Partners questioned viewers on their opinions about politics, Britain and society in general.

The results show almost half of the viewers (49 per cent) agree or strongly agree that Britain is the greatest country in the world.

Only 26.5 per cent of respondents thought that Britain was not the best country and 22.90 per cent did not agree or disagree.

The pollsters posed the statement: "Britain is the greatest country in the world" and asked viewers how much they agreed with the statement thinking about their views about politics, Britain and society in general.

Although the net results showed almost half of the viewers agreeing with the statement, the results did vary by age, gender, region and class.

Men were more likely than women to agree that Britain is the greatest country in the world with 47 per cent of women agreeing compared to 50.90 per cent of men.

Furthermore, 29.70 per cent of women disagreed with the statement compared to 23.60 per cent of men.

By age, 18 to 25-year-olds were least likely to define Great Britain as the greatest country with only 38.10 per cent of viewers agreeing and 34.90 per cent disagreeing.

Meanwhile, 26 to 35-year-olds were the strongest supporters of Britain as the greatest country with 57.60 per cent agreeing with the statement and only 24.20 disagreeing.

By region, those in London were most likely to agree that Britain is the best country with 60.50 per cent agreeing while those in the South East were least likely at 38.30 per cent.

Interestingly, those who self-identified as upper class were overwhelmingly likely to agree that Britain was the greatest country with 91.70 per cent of voters agreeing and 0 per cent disagreeing.

When ranking the best country in the world, pollsters often separate their findings into different categories including power, quality of life, cultural influence, and economic and political influence.

A report by US News placed the United Kingdom in fifth place in the top ten most powerful countries in the world in 2024.

The model equally weighted the average of scores from five aspects including economic and political influence, strength in international alliances, and impactful military power.

The United Kingdom came behind the United States, China, Russia and Germany but beat leading countries like South Korea, Japan and Saudi Arabia.

However, when ranking the United Kingdom for the best quality of life, Britain drops to 27th place.

According to the CEOWORLD Magazine report in 2024, Monaco was ranked as the number one country in the world for Quality of Life.

The survey determined the ranking of 199 countries based on ten categories: Affordability, Economic stability, Family-friendliness, Job market, Income equality, Political neutrality and stability, Safety, Cultural influence, a Well-developed public education system, and a well-developed public health system.
