Police were called to intervene on a "nightmare" EasyJet flight from Belfast to Manchester after a passenger "behaving disruptively" left fellow travellers fuming on board.

Officers leapt into action when the plane landed at Manchester late on Sunday night, escorting the yellow-clad man away after a foul-mouthed tirade left those on the flight outraged.

GB News has seen footage of the disruptive passenger's forced removal from the aircraft, where officers can be pictured taking the man away following the plane's touchdown at Manchester Aiport's Terminal 1.

And now, an eyewitness on the "unbearable" one-hour domestic flight has come forward to detail their encounter with the escortee.

The witness claimed the man had been warned that police could be waiting for him upon arrival as soon as the in-flight safety briefing, when he interrupted crew trying to give passengers the routine walk-through.

He then allegedly received further warnings throughout the journey for "shouting and swearing".

The witness claimed the passenger was denied any alcohol on the short trip over the Irish Sea, and said "he made [the flight] unbearable".

They continued: "He and some girls he was talking to just kept talking really loudly, swearing.

"They literally didn't shut up all flight. It was a bit of a nightmare.

"I was a bit surprised when the police got on, but I thought it was fair enough, really."

An EasyJet spokesman said: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY708 from Belfast to Manchester yesterday was met by police on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard.

"EasyJet's cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations, and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

"Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard.

"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always EasyJet's priority."

GB News has approached Greater Manchester Police for comment.
