Nigel Farage spoke about GB News after announcing his return to frontline politics in an "emergency" General Election announcement today.
The former Brexit Party leader has taken over from Richard Tice as Reform UK leader and will stand as the Reform UK candidate in Clacton in the upcoming election.
Farage was asked when he made the decision, and who made the decision, in a press conference today.
He replied: "Ultimately, it was my decision to say I'm going to put myself forward. I said to Richard, 'Are you happy with this?' And he's more than happy with this - in fact think he's delighted with it, actually.
"We've talked on and off about this for months, and I've been very reluctant to do this. Very reluctant.
"To be honest, I've been reluctant because I've actually rather enjoyed life at GB News. It's been a great job - best job I've ever had."
He added: "I've loved being at GB News, and doing a show four nights a week and doing extra stuff, travelling around the country and all of those things. So giving that up is not an easy thing."
Another journalist pointed out Farage had previously said "Do I want to spend every Friday for the next five years in Clacton?" and asked what had changed his mind.
"It is a huge commitment," he replied. "I said earlier that working at GB News is the best job I've ever had. I haven't had to travel up and down the country.

"I was 21 years an MEP. I know what it's like to travel around constituencies to meet people. It's a huge effort.
"Part of that weighing-up factor was absolutely the question you asked. Am I prepared to give the time, not just to politics, but to the constituency as well?
"The demands of a parliamentary constituency are greater, even though they're smaller, than the demands of an MEP constituency, necessarily."
