Donald Trump has been found guilty of falsifying 34 business records to cover up a hush-money payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels.

The former US president could be jailed for up to four years and faces thousands of dollars in fines.

Twelves jurors reached a verdict following two days of deliberations.

The 77-year-old - who refused to testify in his own defence - is the first criminally convicted US president.

The court heard from 22 witnesses over six weeks - including Daniels.

Trump's sentencing will take place on July, 11 at 10am local time (15.00 BST).

Following the verdict, the former president said: "This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial."

Speaking to members of the press, Trump said that he will "keep fighting until the end" before adding: "This is long from over".
