Honorary President of Reform UK Nigel Farage has demanded an apology from the BBC and Question Time host Fiona Bruce following his appearance on the show.

Making his 37th appearance on the political panel program, Farage accused the show's host of "interrupting" him with "incorrect" facts, as he spoke of the Government's spending on the NHS.

Discussing the National Health Service on Question Time, Farage claimed that the framework "isn't working anymore", and called for a "new way" to fund it.

Farage told the Question Time audience: "If you think about it, go back six or seven years, we were spending about seven per cent of our national cake on the NHS every year.

"We're now spending over 10 per cent of our national cake on the NHS every year. So we've increased in percentage, regardless of the population, we've increased percentage terms enormously.

"With this Government, what we're spending on the NHS, I think every one of us in the room is feeling..."

Farage was then interrupted by Fiona Bruce, who claimed: "It's actually about 18 per cent."

The Honorary Reform President then questioned Fiona, asking "sorry?", to which Fiona repeated her claim: "It's about 18 per cent of total Government spending is on health."

Farage immediately disagreed, hitting back: "I think you'll find it's about between 10 and 11 per cent, but we won't argue about it."

He then continued his point about the NHS, adding: "We've increased massively the spending and we're not getting the delivery.

"So why don't we think about a different funding model? A completely different funding model. The French have a mutual system where those that can afford, pay effectively into an insurance scheme, and those that can't afford it are covered.

"And they are getting a much better return, whether we measure it on stroke, heart disease or cancer."

Following his appearance on the show, Farage reposted a clip on X of his interaction with Fiona Bruce over the NHS, and her interruption of the spending figures.

Sharing the clip with his followers, Farage captioned the post: "I hope BBC Question Time and Fiona Bruce apologise for interrupting me with incorrect facts tonight.

"The ONS says NHS expenditure represented 11.3 per cent of GDP in 2022, not 18 per cent as Fiona said."

Farage's followers flocked to his defence, responding to the video.

One X user said: "Constant interruption of you but the Bishop of Dover allowed to interrupt with vacuous statements again and again."

Another also defended the Reform ally, claiming: "Two apologies in one week from the BBC.. that’s not going to happen."
