A Hamtramck local has revealed shocking details of animal carcasses being "left on the Mayor's doorstep", as GBN America reporter Steven Edginton investigates the Muslim communities in Michigan.

Whilst making his GBNA documentary, America's Muslim City, Steven noted the domination of two symbolic flags in the neighbourhood, for Pride and Palestine.

Speaking to one of the residents of Hamtramck, she revealed to GBNA that Hamtramck is one of the cities in Michigan where "everybody gets along".

She told Steven: "In my neighborhood, we've got Polish, we've got Ukrainian, we've got African American, we have Bengali, and we have Yemeni."

This comes as another Michigan city, Dearborn, recently held a pro-Palestine rally and called for the "Death of America", labelling President Joe Biden as "genocide Joe".

Highlighting the "controversies" surrounding cities in the state of Michigan, Steven asked the local for her thoughts on the "banning of LGBT flags in council buildings" and also "allowing for animal sacrifice in people's backyards".

The lady defended the allowing of animal sacrifices in Michigan, claiming it is "nothing new".

She explained: "When you look at it, the sacrifice of animals, that's nothing new. That went along with immigrant groups."

She added: "I remember when I was a kid, people killed their chicken or their duck in their backyard."

In understanding why people may be "concerned" by the practice of sacrificing animals and killing animals in people's backyards, the resident told GBNA that it can be a concern to the "health code".

She told Steven: "The reason that people were concerned is because of the fact of health code and things like that.

"Especially dispensing with the different parts of the animal. You know, people were concerned about that."

She then revealed: "I know the former mayor, Karen Majewski, she had a store and there was a goat carcass one time in her dumpster, and she was like, oh, that's not really a good idea."

GBNA reporter Steven Edginton also spoke to a Michigan tattoo artist about the protests in Dearborn and about the banning of LGBT flags in the city's council buildings.

He revealed: "In Hamtramck, we have all different kinds of people living next to each other, living on top of each other.

"Hamtramck is also a super queer city, and is definitely something I've noticed."
