Environmental campaigners aim to target the UK’s busiest roads and bridges ahead of the General Election, GB News can exclusively reveal.

In a worrying development, the activist group has confirmed it plans to protest “on a massive scale”, with hundreds of eco-warriors being mobilised to cause maximum disruption.

They aim to force police officers to make thousands of arrests and “overwhelm” the country’s struggling judicial system.

More than 3,000 supporters are being readied to take part, with activists receiving training in non-violent resistance and what to expect when they get arrested.

The first protest is scheduled to take place this Saturday (June 1) in London with activists gathering close to Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge.

If blocked, the two potential targets would cause significant disruption to thousands of motorists and put lives at risk by delaying emergency services.

Just Stop Oil then plans to ramp up its direct action until it becomes a weekly event.

They hope that by filling UK courts and prisons with thousands of activists, politicians will be forced to cave into their demands for no new oil and gas.

GB News can also reveal that Just Stop Oil plans to specifically target Sir Keir Starmer and his shadow cabinet.

The Labour leader is being heavily criticised by the group for failing to promise to revoke new oil and gas licenses granted by the Conservative Government if he becomes our next Prime Minister.

The group says they hope this and other high-profile actions will help to “spark a political revolution” in the country.

The news of these direct-action tactics will be of huge concern to police forces across Britain, who are already struggling with regular pro-Palestine protests.

It will also pile pressure on Tory and Labour politicians with the threat of disruption set to derail their election campaigns.

It comes after GB News revealed that environmental campaigners plan to target the UK's busiest airports over the last two weeks in July.

In a deeply alarming development, activists have confirmed they plan to target terminal buildings and airport runways.

The confirmation of these direct action tactics will be of huge concern to airport security and safety personnel, because of the obvious dangers of carrying out protests within the airport envelope or within the airside environment.

GB News has learned that Just Stop Oil will target airports including Heathrow and Gatwick at the height of the summer getaway in order to cause maximum disruption.

The activist group is also planning a series of online courses aimed at encouraging and informing volunteers on how best to carry out direct action.

Members of Just Stop Oil are now actively telephoning and emailing supporters right across the UK in an effort to co-opt as many people as possible to take part in the disruptive protest action.

One aviation source told GB News: “This will be an absolute nightmare for the aviation industry.

“The disruption caused will not just severely impact people’s holiday and travel plans but will cost airlines and airports many millions of pounds in lost revenue.

“But the most worrying aspect of this direct action is the decision by these activists to break through perimeter fences or access airside doors to move onto the airport runways.

“By their very nature, the airside environment of any busy airport is highly active and extremely dangerous with constant aircraft movements around the airfield.

“Whatever their motivation, this direct action is deeply misguided as these activists will not only be putting themselves at risk but also members of the travelling public and airport staff.”
