Oasis have left life-long fans underwhelmed with a recent announcement after many speculated that the rock band would be reuniting.

The band - which is best known for its hit songs Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Supersonic - recently posted a video on their Instagram of Sawmills Studio which led fans to assume they were creating new music.

The grainy clip showcased the house surrounded by hills and a river, and had no accompanying music to it, leaving fans as confused as ever.

In the early hours of this morning, front-man Liam Gallagher further fuelled the rumours when one X user asked: "Liam are you 100% ready to start the definitely maybe tour?" before he replied: "I’m 1000000000000000 ready."

However, fans were left upset when it was finally revealed that all the teasing was to ramp up excitement for the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, leaving them to fume on X.

The announcement - which consisted of a short montage video - was posted on both X and Instagram and accompanied by a caption that read: "Definitely Maybe - Deluxe 30th Anniversary Editions.

"Featuring unheard Monnow Valley versions and Sawmills Studios outtakes. Available on deluxe 4LP, 2CD, coloured vinyl, cassette and digitally with new artwork and sleeve notes.

"Released 30th August. Link to pre-order in bio."

Dissatisfied with the news, one X user penned: "I am both relieved and disappointed at the same time."

"All that build-up for this," one simply stated before another added: "Come on lads."

One annoyed fan penned: "Feels like only 5 years ago the same thing happened."

"Really had a lot of us going there, huh," a fifth said before a sixth added: "Pretty funny how some actually thought they were teasing a reunion."

However, not everyone was disappointed with the news as a happy listener expressed: "I'm very much looking forward to it!" (sic)

The album is set for release on August 30 - the release date of the landmark 1994 LP - with the new format boasting tracks from the original recording session at Monnow Valley Studios, as well as outtakes recorded at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall.

Gallagher will also be heard singing a demo version of "Sad Song", which was a bonus track on the original album, along with new sleeve notes.

Gallagher has been at loggerheads with his brother Noel, 56, since a backstage bust-up between the pair at their final concert in Paris in 2009, but is embarking on a sold-out Definitely Maybe 30th-anniversary tour.

When a fan asked if Noel would be taking part, Liam replied: “He’s been asked and he’s refused."
