Jill Biden’s former press secretary delivered a fiery response when asked if Joe Biden’s age will prove to be his downfall at this year’s US presidential election.

Michael LaRosa joined Patrick Christys on GBN America to look ahead to this year’s vote which will be preceded by a series of debates between the sitting president, Joe Biden and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The incumbent has been plagued by scrutiny surrounding his age, with the 81-year-old already the oldest sitting president in US history.

Asked by Patrick whether this is a reason for Biden to be concerned, he snapped back with a four-word response.

“No. Not at all”, he asserted.

Patrick said that despite LaRosa’s assertion, there “might be” a reason for Biden to be concerned given how he is facing calls to be given a drug test to ensure he “isn’t pumped up on a cocktail of amphetamines”.

LaRosa defended the sitting president by arguing that his record speaks for itself.

“His record is quite more accomplished than his opponent even given his age.

“He was able to pass 300 bipartisan bills within two years of being president, he managed to pass a bipartisan infrastructure, the biggest infrastructure package in the US since Dwight Eisenhower in the ‘50s that Trump only talked about.

“What worked well for us in 2020 was showing up. Trump seems to be able to get his own way and you will see that again.

“We are happy to allow that for a third debate with Joe Biden.”

Asked to elaborate on his comments, he said: “The debates they held years ago did not go well for the former President.

“Biden got the better of Trump and came out ahead in the polls in those debates and we went on to win the election.”

The warring pair have agreed to hold two presidential TV debates in June and September.

The first will take place in the key swing state of Georgia and set the tone for what promises to be a lengthy and bitter race to the White House.

Robert F Kennedy, who is running as an independent, has accused Biden and Trump of colluding to exclude him.
