A woman who was left with hundreds of injuries after her XL Bully dog "played tug of war" with her breast implants in a vicious attack has spoken out about her horrific half-hour-long ordeal.

Charlie Watts, 28, a tattoo artist from Holt in Norfolk, had owned a pair of dogs - named Juju and Titan - but was brutally savaged when she tried to pull the former away from the latter as they fought.

Watts had been by herself in her flat when Juju turned on her, and detailed how she could feel her dental veneers clashing against the illegal dog's teeth as she was mauled.

She said: "I was trapped on the floor and at one point Juju got hold of my left breast and was playing tug of war with it," adding that she thought the dog was "fixating on hurting" her.

It was only thanks to Titan's intervention, when he jumped into the action to fend off the out-of-control Juju, that Watts was able to escape the property.

A neighbour stepped in to help the blood-soaked tattooist, but the the extent of her injuries left her in hospital for four days after the attack.

The mauling left Watts with tissue, nerve and muscle damage in her arm - which she said she still could not use.

She said: "The doctors didn't think they'd be able to save my breast implant, but luckily they have kept it in... I was going to get them redone last year but I'm so glad I didn't now."

At the time, Norfolk Police confirmed that "the victim, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious injuries. She was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for treatment", adding that "one dog, an XL Bully, has since been destroyed."

While Watts was undergoing treatment in hospital, the pair of dogs were locked inside the flat for 12 hours before police intervened, removing and destroying Juju.

Alan Gilbey, the 28-year-old's grandfather, said: "She has got something like 200 puncture wounds on her arms and legs... She had stitches, sutures, glue…whatever."

Gilbey confirmed Juju was a rehomed XL Bully, while Watts implied that the dog's former owners could have contributed to his behaviour.

Police have also said that official inquiries were "ongoing" in order to determine the breed of Watts' other dog, Titan.

Since February 1, it has been an offence to sell, abandon, give away, breed, or walk an unleashed and unmuzzled XL Bully dog in England and Wales, with Scotland imposing the same legislation on February 23.

Nearly 40,000 XL Bully dogs are thought to still be on Britain’s streets despite a ban on the breed being introduced - according to the banned breeds register, some 38,424 dogs were granted the £92 exemption to avoid being put down.

Estimates suggest there have been as many as 24 deaths linked to the breed since 2021.
