Prince Harry has sparked a fiery row on GB News after his brother Prince William was granted a pivotal military role by King Charles.

In a 'major snub' to the Duke of Sussex, the Prince of Wales was today honoured with the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, of which Harry was formerly attached to during his second tour of Afghanistan until 2014.

Debating the appointment on GB News, commentators Jerry Hayes and Amy Nickell-Turner became embroiled in a heated debate, as Hayes argued that Prince Harry "should not be given a role" as he is no longer a working member of the monarchy.

In defence of the estranged duke, Nickell-Turner argued that Prince Harry would have been a "natural fit" for the role, regardless of his working status.

Sharing her thoughts on Prince William's role amid the ongoing royal feud, Nickell-Turner claimed that "it's hard to see which side of the family is pushing the distance more".

She told GB News: "Prince William's now been given a massive role in the army, in which Prince Harry served.

"You'd think that would be a natural fit to offer Prince Harry? So could it be that the distancing is coming more from the King's side?"

Hayes hit back at Nickell-Turner's remarks, blasting: "Why should they give him a role when he's been slagging off his family in a book?

"And in the most appalling way!"

Nickell-Turner then claimed that she "doesn't see" Prince Harry's outpourings, including his memoir Spare, as "slagging off".

She responded: "I haven't seen it as slagging off, I see it as him telling his story."

Host Christopher Hope shared his view and argued that he has "betrayed confidences" within the Royal Family.

Christopher questioned Nickell-Turner: "If he was your relation, your family, and had come to see you and then went on TV a few weeks days later, weeks later, released a book and wrote what was said in a private family situation, that's quite disloyal?"

Nickell-Turner admitted: "Yes, but I think that some of the things that he said, particularly about his mental health, have helped so many people, and it's been so often that's something that Meghan is really good at, too."

Defending Meghan Markle and her role within the Royal Family alongside Prince Harry, she continued: "I think people get annoyed because she's just so good at playing this role."

When pressed on why Meghan and Harry are "behaving like royals when they are no longer part of the family", Hayes came to their defence and claimed "Harry is, but she is not".

Hayes concluded the debate: "Look, I want reconciliation. I want them brought back into the family, but they've got to do something to show that they love the King and he loves his brother."
