Hundreds of anti-Tesla campaigners have stormed a Gigafactory in Germany in protest over Elon Musk's planned expansion.

Tesla shut down its factory near Berlin on Friday amid concerns of angry protesters who oppose plans to more than double the production capacity of its only factory in Europe.

Disrupt, an self-proclaimed anti-capitalist protest group, argue that the expansion would see surrounding forest cut down and further strain local water supply.

The campaigners have set out to "prevent the work" of Musk .
