Grant Shapps has updated MPs after the Ministry of Defence (MoD) suffered a cyber attack.

The Defence Secretary blamed a “malign actor”, adding state involvement “can’t be ruled out”.

The Government suspects China was behind the hack of an armed forces payroll system.

China described the suggestion as “fabricated and malicious slander”.
