A knife crime campaigner has called for a "no tolerance approach" to those who commit knife-related offences, after a string of stabbings in the last 48 hours.

Daniel Anjorin, 14, was killed on Tuesday after a 36-year-old man attacked members of the public with a 'samurai-style' sword in Hainault.

Today, a 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an attack using a "sharp object" at a school in Sheffield.

In a statement, police confirmed that "two adults were checked over at the scene after suffering minor injuries".

Speaking to GB News, founder of FazAmnesty, Faron Paul, called on the UK Government to "put their foot down" when it comes to knife crime, and impose consequences that "act as a bigger deterrent" for those who carry knives.

Paul had attended the scene of the Hainault sword attack and left flowers for the teenage victim, Anjorin.

Speaking to reporter Katherine Forster, Paul said more needs to be done to "stop the online sales of knives and swords", as well as other weapons.

Paul claimed: "We need to stop the buying and selling of weapons online. To this day, young people can order a 21-inch samurai sword through the post, and they'll be delivered to people without being ID'd."

He added: "We need to have a zero-tolerance approach to knife crime and the people that use it, we need to have consequences."

Reacting to the news of the Sheffield stabbing, Paul told GB News: "I believe across the country everyone has their fair share of knife crime.

"But for me, as a London resident, I know that we have a very, very bad problem with knife crime and that is as a person of the community and also a person that runs an anti-knife charity."

Speaking outside the Sheffield school on Wednesday afternoon, Assistant Chief Constable Dan Thorpe said officers were called to the scene around 9am this morning.

He said: "Two adults suffered minor injuries, one from a sharp object which is believed to be broken glass.

"The child was assaulted and thankfully has no visible injuries. But I know this will have been a frightening ordeal for everyone involved."

It has also been revealed that the 14-year-old boy killed in Hainault was a pupil at the same school as Nottingham stabbing victim Grace O'Malley-Kumar.

Anjorin's school, Bancroft's, said he was a "true scholar" who had a "positive nature and gentle character".
