Jeremy Clarkson will soon be back on screens for a new dose of Clarkson's Farm, with a new trailer released for the third series of the show last week.

Clarkson, 64, has revealed the new series will have some sad moments, as proved by the trailer's sneak peek at girlfriend Lisa Hogan crying on his shoulder following the deaths of some pigs at Diddly Squat Farm.

When asked if some of the brutal moments showing the reality of life on the farm made it difficult to decide how much to edit the series, Clarkson simply replied: "No".

He went on to explain: "Farming on television has been portrayed in the past as fresh straw, fluffy lambs, agreeable calves: a bit like Babe.

"I had it in my head before we ever started the farm that farming wasn't like that - that it was much dirtier and harder, and I always wanted to show it like it actually is.

"Every single TV show or movie we watched as a child was sad: Lassie, Ring of Bright Water where the otter gets a shovel through his head, Old Yeller, he died.

"Born Free was an absolute tear-jerker. There was never a children's film in the sixties and seventies where it had a happy ending and I don't know what happened, but movie producers decided films needed happy endings, and that's what we've got used to.

"Well, farming doesn’t have many happy endings, as we've discovered."

A trailer shared last week gave first-look at the new series, and Clarkson can be seen comforting girlfriend Hogan as she sobs over a tragic incident on the farm.

Part of the clip shows Hogan breaking down in tears at Diddly Squat Farm as Clarkson comfortingly places an arm around her.

The former Top Gear star and his partner seemed heartbroken in the clip, which shows them discovering some of the farm's piglets had sadly died.

Clarkson can be seen tending to the new-born animals, however it soon becomes clear there is a problem.

“One of them is as weak as hell," the Grand Tour star is heard saying as he reaches into an incubator.

Later, he shows Hogan that two of the piglets have died, to which she responds: “Oh no,” before bursting into tears.

Meanwhile, Kaleb Cooper revealed he and Clarkson have their "biggest argument yet" in the upcoming series.

"I think in this series we have probably our biggest ever argument. But don't get me wrong, I love the man," the 25-year-old confessed.

Clarkson's right-hand man Cooper could be seen getting injured in the new episodes of the Prime series, leaving Clarkson visibly worried.
